Onsite Wastewater ( Formerly Northwest Michigan Onsite Wastewater Task Force) is a regional education, research and information clearinghouse not-for-profit organization serving northwest Michigan. Comprising representatives from a wide range of governmental, wastewater management and environmental groups - the goal of the Task Force is to coordinate information on the ever increasing options for waste water management and groundwater protection. Board List |

We promote the EPA Voluntary National Guidelines for Management of Onsite and Clustered Wastewater Treatment Systems.

In the United States, only Michigan does not have a uniform, state-wide regulatory sanitary code for installation and monitoring of onsite septic systems. The Task Force was part of a Michigan Department of Environmental Quality steering committee working on draft a code.

Our Board of Directors represents a broad range of land use and public health interests.
We are committed to documenting currently accepted innovative wastewater systems, and demonstrating, by example, the feasibility and cost savings of alternatives.

We document current wastewater practises. We provide education, dissemination and promotion of information on the practical application of emerging, innovative and current technologies and small community options for financing and management.
